Summer Fun!
During the summer months we spend lots of time playing outdoors and exploring nature. Summer of 2008 we are planning a small carnival, track and field day, sprinkler time, and lot's of picnic's. We also have a hill in the front yard that provides LOTS of fun entertainment!
During the months of Sept-May I will be providing a structured program that offers routine, yet is based on the individual child and will always remain very flexible to their needs.
We will have lots of interactions that will include group and individual activities. The children will learn by center based experiences, group morning meetings, and a curriculum that I have put together along with Secret Stories(see below).
Throughout the time spent here, the children will also learn activites that will help them develop responsibilites, such as; setting and clearing the table, proper hygiene, cleaning up toys, dressing themselves for outdoors, respecting others' and many more.
In September of 2006, I started using Secret Stories to help teach the children the basics of reading, writing and spelling. This is taught through the use of movement, characters, and music. Please check out the website to learn more

We will also focus on being "kids." I highly understand the importance of socialization and how "play" is a wonderful way to learn!

We do have 2 loving dogs, they will not be near the children. All shots are up to date on both dogs.
We also have added a kitten to our family. Shots are also up to date.
